By failing to understand our weaknesses, we permit their exploitation. Their exploitation by others isn’t what we have to worry about though- it is our own hubris that will be our downfall. We are all vulnerable to ruin and it is our ego that sets us up for failure.
A rock is subject to the elements and so are we. The wind and the rain eat away at the surface, dust and grit slowly alter its features. What seems like a small effect has over time, the ability to shape us. We have to shield against that destruction by appreciating how it changes us and we must adapt to that evolution by maintaining a yielding nature.
Understand our own nature and we can be less vulnerable.
